Research and Development
The U.S. Department of Energy views high-efficiency windows as essential to achieving its strategic goal of creating technologies and design approaches that lead to marketable zero energy homes by 2020. To this end, the DOE Building Technologies Program supports window research and development (R&D) focusing on two areas:
- Technology Development: for the next generation of fenestration products, across all climates and building types
- Design Tools and Technology Support: providing the tools and knowledge to develop advanced products
